a Poem ~ a Song ~ a Tribute

by Rick Clark for his brother...

"Gene"

The Twenty-forth of May
The year was 1991
will always be remembered as the day that
"Darked the Sun".
For anyone whose ever heard
the words to "Strenghth Of Strings"
the melody will haunt us,

the lyric will remind us,
and once a year we will shed a tear
and sing your sad refrain.

Again

I'm glad I've had the honor
to have known you like "No Other".

I'll always be so proud to tell this world
that you're my brother.
With your guitar Ill play your songs
and sing the words you have penned.

Your melody will haunt us,
your lyric will reward us,
and once a year
we will shed a tear
and sing your sad refrain.

Again

I'd like to think your watching over us
from "Eight Miles High".

I know that it was you
who put that rainbow in the sky

to let us know that even though
your gone you'll never die.

Your melody will haunt us,
your lyric still reminds us,
and once a year

we will shed a tear
and sing your sad refrain

Your melody still haunts us,
your lyric still reminds us,
and once a year

we will shed a tear
and sing your sad refrain
Again
Again
